Bristol Student Housing Co-operative
We aim to create affordable, not for profit housing for students in Bristol - run democratically by the people that live in it.
The average annual student rent is more than the maximum maintenance loan (September 2026).
As a student, landlords treat you as replaceable income: they charge extortionate prices and barely maintain their properties in the knowledge that it's not really your home - you'll be moving on soon, and there'll be another student to take your place.
By providing housing for ourselves, we can stop enriching extractive landlords who turn shelter into a commodity, and start creating secure, comfortable, and affordable homes.
